Promotions can be used for basic Buy One Get One (BOGO) type sales when the specific items are known.
Example BOGO promotion sales include:
- Buy an item, get a second item free
- Buy an item, get a second of the same item for a percent off
- Buy 2 of an item, get 1 item for a flat dollar amount off
For BOGO sales with any additional criteria, coupons are used instead.
Setup
Create a new promotion and fill out the BOGO settings.
Example: Promotion BOGO Settings for buy one, get one free
Field | Description |
BOGO Checkbox | Check this to make it a BOGO promotion |
Quantity Buy | The number of items to be purchased for the discount to apply |
Quantity Get | The number of items the discount will apply to |
Amount Off | The discount amount |
Percentage or Dollars | The discount type |
Add the items with the BOGO Buy and BOGO Get positions.
Example: Add an item with the BOGO Get position
Field | Description |
BOGO BUY | Items eligible to buy |
BOGO GET | Items eligible to get the discount |
Note: if the same item could be either a BUY or a GET, you will need to add it twice, once for each position
