Sales by Category & Customer

The Sales by Category & Customer dashboard offers a look at your sales in four spearate breakouts: by store / location, by aggregate name, by customer type and by sale transaction type. At a quick glance you will see all four of these breakouts with the ability to filter the dashboard to narrow the focus on all of them. You can choose to filter to specific groupings, or filter to exclude certain groupings, depending on your analysis needs.

You can use the filters on the right side of the dashboard, or simply click on a column in one of the graphics to filter. The graphics are based on the date range in Review Date.

Two line graphs that respond to the Review Date filter will show your trends broken out by the dimension you choose. You can right click on the graphic to switch dimensions and see your trends with various break-out dimensions. Be aware that the line graphic is limited to 50 components, if your chosen dimension has more than 50 you will need to use the filters on the dashboard to see relevant data. The two line graphs are identical in function, however, they allow you to see trends in two separate (and presumable related) dimensions at the same time.

Below the graphics are two pivot data tables that allow you to compare two date ranges: Review Date and Comp Date in the filters. You are able to switch the dimensions of the data by right clicking on the columns, similar to the line charts as described above.

Any of the data tables can be exported to work with the data outside the dashboard. Do this by clicking on the 3 dots at the top right corner of the widget, choose Download and export an image or file.  The recommended file type for a spreadsheet is CSV.
