Customers can leave online product reviews if a back-end setting is enabled. If enabled, csutomers will see Write Review beneath each item they have purchased in their order history.
After posting their review it will be placed into a pending area where it can be reviewed before posting for others to see. This is so you can reply to any order issues that are not product reviews and remove any inappropriate messages. To access the Product Reviews management screen, log into your Website and go to domainname.com/admin. There you will find a link to the Product Reviews management page.
Pending
When you choose Product Reviews on the Admin screen, it will automatically bring you to any pending reviews. There are several different options under the Pending tab.
From here you can do perform multiple actions, sort the pending reviews, and see various pieces of information about the review.
- Bulk Actions: Check the box to select all pending reviews and bulk Approve or Remove all of them.
- Refresh: Show any new reviews written since the last refresh or arrival to the page.
- Sort: Sort the pending reviews.
- Product info line - This is also a link that redirects to the product page.
- User information and review: The user's rating of the item, the user name & email address, as well as there descriptive review of the item. The number of votes to the right of the review shows how many thumbs-up the review has gained. In the case of pending reviews there will not be any votes - it will always say 0 on the Pending screen.
- Approve: This approves the review and sends it to the Approved tab.
- Remove: This removes the pending review and sends it to the Removed tab.
- Respond: Type any response that might benefit the customer and click Respond. Note: The response will not be visible until the review is approved.
- Delete Response: Delete any response to a pending or approved review.
Approved
Approved reviews are very much like Pending reviews, but with a couple exceptions.
- Approve and Remove buttons are replaced with Remove and Unapprove.
- Any "Helpful" votes from other customers will tally in the thumbs-up icon on the right.
Removed
The primary difference on this tab are Approve and Unremove buttons, which are available to use in bulk or on each individual review.
