Creating Store-to-Store Transfers on the POS

Modified on Wed, 29 Nov 2023 at 10:24 AM

Transferring items between stores that are not associated with a customer or a system/office generated Store Transfer can be done in a way that assigns the items going out to a purchase order that is destined to arrive in another store. The destination store can receive the products one-by-one or by using Stage All to exactly match what was sent. This will update and essentially close the purchase order.

  • This is especially helpful if large batches of items are being sent and the goal is for the receiving store to use Stage All to receive the items.

  • This also makes the order tightly-bound so the flow of goods going out and coming in can be monitored to ensure all items that left the origination store ultimately arrived in the destination store.

1. Open Send Mode on the POS

2. Tap Assign Tracking Number

3. Tap Create Transfer (if this button is not present, contact FieldStack support to have your system configured.)

4. A store selector will pop up showing all locations that are in your Store Group. If the destination store is not included, that store is not part of the Store Group that is selected based on the lower center/left of your FieldStack application.

5. Select the store to which the products will be going and tap Create.

6. Scan all items in send mode in the normal manner and send them to finalize the list.

7. For the destination store to receive the product correctly, it is best to note the PO number on the products or on the box/pallet that they are being sent in. The PO number can be found on the send screen by tapping Current Orders and locating the order by date or by noting the information in the Vendor column. This shows the destination store number, followed by the origination store number/abbreviation.

The transfer purchase order now exists with your store showing the sends with zero left and the destination store showing that they are expecting that same amount. When the destination store receives the product, the order line for that store will update and the order should balance to have zero left.

Receiving at the destination store can be done item-by-item or by using Stage All if enabled.
