How to Redeem Coupons
Manual vs Auto | Location | Instructions |
Manual | In Store | Scan Search for the coupon code and apply it to the transaction Note: you can also relabel a coupon to create a scannable UPC |
Manual | Online | The customer enters the coupon code at checkout |
Auto Apply | In Store | After all eligible items have been scanned into the POS and the remaining coupon conditions have been met, the coupon will automatically appear in the POS and discount the item(s) |
Auto Apply | Online | After all eligible items have been added to cart and the remaining coupon conditions have been met, the coupon will automatically appear at checkout and discount the item(s) |
Note: coupons will only work if they haven't expired, if they exist for that store, and if they are in an active promotion.

Troubleshooting
- Potential reasons a coupon may not work include:
- if the promotion is not active
- if the coupon is expired (past its end date)
- if no eligible items have been scanned
- if not enough eligible items have been scanned
- if the coupon requires a customer account, and no customer has been added to the transaction
- if the coupon has usage limits, and the customer has already redeemed it
- if the coupon has min / max transaction requirements that haven't been reached yet
- if the coupon ignores discounted items, and the eligible items have already been discounted (by another promotion, price code discount, or a manual price change in the POS)
- If an auto apply coupon isn't appearing automatically, add and remove a customer from the transaction.
- If an auto apply coupon still isn't appearing automatically, it can be manually added to the transaction in the POS for troubleshooting.
- If a manually added coupon shows FREE in the POS, not all conditions have been met and no discount has applied. Click "More Info" to see a description of the coupon settings and the reason it hasn't applied.
Example: More Info for a coupon in the POS - If the coupon is not in an active promotion or the current store, manually adding it in the POS will popup a warning message. The coupon can be applied by clicking "Ok."
