How to Create a Coupon


To create a coupon, go to Promotion Management, choose a promotion, and click “Add Coupon.” This will open the coupon form.

Hovering over most fields will show a brief description of the setting. The Coupon Summary and Validation sections will update to summarize the settings and any necessary corrections.

 

The settings are grouped into sections:


Section

Description

Basic

General settings, description, and the coupon type

Discount

The discount type and amount

Items

The eligible items, and how many will be discounted 

Minimum Transaction Requirements

The minimum required transaction total or eligible item total (optional)

Maximum Transaction Requirements

The maximum allowed transaction total or coupon value, and how many times a coupon can be redeemed per transaction (optional)

Usage Limits

How many times a coupon can be redeemed (optional)

Stacking

The order that multiple coupons would apply in a transaction (optional)

Customer Price Code

Limit the coupon to specific customer price codes

Bottom of Form

The coupon start and end dates, valid stores, and promotion details

Note: only in the coupon settings when creating a coupon, can be updated by editing the promotion.


Note: in order for a coupon to work, it needs to have valid start and end dates and also be in an active promotion. Read more about coupon redemption and editing promotions.

How to Edit a Coupon


To edit a coupon, go to Promotion Management, choose the promotion, and double click the coupon UPC. You can also search for the coupon by it's code or UPC and double click it from the item listing screen, it will open the same coupon form. Edit a coupon to change the coupon settings or eligible items.

Note: the store(s) the coupon is in and the coupon start and end date are at the promotion level. To change these, you will need to edit the promotion.
