How to Use Store Credit

Modified on Fri, 24 May at 2:47 PM

When a customer is added to the transaction, any available store credit will show under their name.  Customers may have store credit from a past refund, a gift card balance transferred to their account or a pre-owned buyback.

Example: store credit

Note: If they have credit terms and a credit limit, their available credit will show here.

How to Use Store Credit Toward a Purchase

To use available store credit toward a purchase, press the Use up to $x.xx Credit button and specify how much credit to use.  This button will only appear once an item has been added to the transaction.  The value will default to either the total transaction amount or total credit available, whichever is lower.

Example: use store credit

Click "Ok" and the store credit will apply to the transaction and reduce the amount due.

How to Add Store Credit to a Customer

To add store credit to a customer, click "Add Credit" in the POS. Fill out the amount of store credit to add to their account, and click "Ok."

Example: add store credit to a customer

Their available credit will show under their name, and the credit amount will be automatically added to the POS to be paid for.

Example: pay for store credit

Note: If a customer has reached their credit limit, you would use this same process for them to pay toward their credit balance.

You can also add or remove credit by editing the customer and opening the Adjust Points or Credit tab, this will not charge the customer and is used for making adjustments to their account. This can be used for customer goodwill. This can also be used during a paper gift transition period. This functionality is typically limited to higher privileged users.

Example: adjust store credit from edit customer
