Coupons - How to set up a state specific flat rate delivery fee

Orders shipped to a specific state may require a flat-rate delivery fee. Use a coupon to add a state specific flat rate delivery fee.


Create a coupon. In this example, the coupon is in a promotion for shipping fees.

Choose the name of the coupon (this is customer facing and will be displayed at checkout)

Discount AmountChoose the amount to charge (must be a negative amount to charge a fee instead of apply a discount)

Note: the amount must be negative. A coupon with a negative amount will charge a fee. If the amount is positive, the coupon will remove it as a discount.


Items

Add Get items and choose the applicable shipping methods, delivery surcharge attribute, and state attribute. The coupon will apply to orders with the chosen shipping methods in that state.

Bottom of Form Settings

The coupon should be online online only and not expire. Choose the store group for online orders and set an end date far into the future.

The promotion must be active and the conditions of the above settings must be met for the coupon to apply.
