Granting VPN Access to a User

Modified on Tue, 23 Apr 2024 at 03:43 PM

VPN Credentials and access are controlled from within the Employee List either during a new employee set-up or by editing an existing employee's information.

Adding Credentials to a New Employee

A newly-added employee can have a VPN login generated for them at the time of onboarding. Within the Employee Wizard, a checkbox exists to allow a VPN login to be created during the set up.

Upon completion of the Add Employee Wizard, the username and password for the VPN login will pop-up for you to copy and share with the new employee.

Adding Credentials to an Existing Employee

To grant VPN access to an existing employee that does not have access already, go to Locations > Employees and double-click on the employee name to open the Edit Employee screen. On the Employee Information tab, change the VPN User to checked and click Save Employee Information.

After a successful save, the username and password for the VPN login will pop-up for you to copy and share with the new employee.

Accessing FieldStack Using VPN Credentials

Ask your FieldStack Account Manager for instructions to download and access the VPN client.

Generating New Credentials

To reset the password on an existing VPN account, go to Change Password on the employee account information and click Generate VPN Password.

Removing Access from an Existing Employee

Deactivating existing credentials is as easy as the creation of them.

  • If the VPN User Box is unchecked on Edit Employee form, the VPN account will be deactivated.
  • If the user is deactivated, the VPN account is also deactivated.
